The Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) seeks to further evidence-based approaches to reading and learning so that all students acquire the highest levels of literacy and thrive. CERI fulfills its mission by offering certification to teachers and reading interventionists that affirms their knowledge and skills in teaching literacy using a structured approach to language. CERI is an independent 501 (c) (6) organization founded by the International Dyslexia Association.

The Knowledge and Practice Standards (KPS) for Teachers of Reading is a comprehensive evidence-based resource that outlines the knowledge and skills that all teachers should possess in order to deliver effective instruction and ensure that all children become proficient readers.

CERI certifications are designed for general education professionals interested in preventing reading failure and advancing off-track readers and for those professionals who provide targeted, remedial reading interventions to readers with profiles characteristic of, or readers identified with, Dyslexia.
